Cooking Assistant Policy

This Cooking Assistant Policy describes how Brain Dance Designs LLC ("we," "us," or "our") provides and governs AI-powered features in Sparky Cooks Recipe Sharing ("Sparky Cooks"). It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Cooking Assistant Features

Cooking Assistant powers core functions that may include creating and formatting recipes, importing recipes from permitted sources, answering cooking questions, preparing Cooking Guides, processing Cooking Notes, creating recipes from photos, generating automatic recipe tags, and generating searchable tags for uploaded photos. Availability and usage allowances depend on your plan and the feature involved.

Subject to OpenAI Policy

Cooking Assistant features are powered by OpenAI. Applicable content is sent only after you grant the in-app Cooking Assistant permission. OpenAI may process that content under its applicable service terms and privacy commitments.

Recipe Data Use

To provide a requested feature, Sparky Cooks may send applicable recipe content, questions, cooking-note transcripts, imported material, and photos to OpenAI. We seek to send only the content needed for the request. Public URL imports may include extracted page or recipe content. Instructions may be paraphrased to reduce unnecessary reproduction of source material.

OpenAI states that data submitted through its business and API services is not used to train its models by default. OpenAI may retain limited data as described in its current API data-use and abuse-monitoring policies. Those practices may change, so consult OpenAI's published policies for current details.

Automatic Recipe and Photo Tags

When Cooking Assistant permission is active, applicable recipe content may be analyzed by OpenAI to generate automatic recipe tags. Recipes can still be saved when permission is absent, but new automatic recipe tags are skipped; tags can still be managed manually.

When your plan includes automatic photo tagging and Cooking Assistant permission is active, newly uploaded photos may be analyzed by OpenAI to generate searchable tags. A photo can still be uploaded when permission is absent, but automatic photo tags are skipped. Profile-photo workflows are separate and are not intentionally submitted for automatic recipe-photo tagging.

Voice Notes and Cooking Notes

On supported iPhone and iPad devices, raw voice-note audio is processed with Apple's on-device speech recognition and is not saved or uploaded by Sparky Cooks. Apple TV dictation is provided by Apple. Sparky Cooks receives the resulting text. When you finish Cooking Notes, the transcript and applicable recipe context may be sent to OpenAI to prepare a draft or suggested update. Review the result before accepting it.

Personal Information

  • Sparky Cooks does not intentionally send your account password to OpenAI.
  • Avoid including personal, sensitive, confidential, or third-party information that is unnecessary for your cooking request.
  • Content may contain personal information if you choose to include it, and applicable content may be sent to OpenAI as described above.

Permitted Use

  • Cooking Assistant is limited to cooking- and recipe-related requests.
  • Recipe creation, editing, and importing must be used lawfully and with appropriate rights to the submitted material.
  • You agree not to use these features for unrelated topics, inappropriate requests, or attempts to bypass usage restrictions.
  • Do not attempt to bypass paywalls, access controls, or a website's restrictions on automated access.

Limitations of AI Responses

AI-generated responses may not always be accurate, complete, or reliable. These features are intended to assist with recipe formatting and cooking-related queries only, and should not be relied upon as professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating AI-generated content before using it.

Permission and Withdrawal

By selecting Agree and Continue in the Cooking Assistant disclosure, you permit Sparky Cooks to send applicable content to OpenAI as described. You may select Not Now, in which case Cooking Assistant features remain unavailable. You may withdraw permission from your account or profile settings; affected features stop working until permission is granted again. Usage allowances and subscription status are separate from this permission.
